Where to start ………..

Well I now have my Blog up and running. The main thing I will be blogging about over the next month is my escape for WEAR (World Escape Artist Relay www.ibmring362.org/WEAR2007.html). I have just finished setting up a just giving site for this event to try and raise a bit of much needed money for STEPS (www.steps-charity.org.uk ).

For those of you that don’t know this is going to be my most challenging escape so far. My first for WEAR was 4 pairs of handcuffs and a pair of thumb cuffs in the back of a police van. Then last year I did my mad triathlon (sky dive, cell escape and blindfolded fire juggling). So that was slightly mad really but this year things are getting serious!

I will be chained, handcuffed, shackled and generally bound then placed inside a wheelie bin, which will be locked with 2 locks one American lock on the inside. This will give me access to a combination dial padlock (safe type lock) that I will NOT BE ABLE TO SEE the dial so I will be taking it blind! Did I mention there is a time limit? No well there is ….. I have ….. well not sure how long …. I am working on expanding the time but basically it is as long as I can hold my breath.

No wheelie bins are not air tight – as such BUT did I forget to mention the bin will be full (no not just me!) it will be full of water as well!

So I will have as long as I can hold my breath for. It’s akin to Houdini’s water torture cell but in a wheelie bin. It really is going to be a challenge.

I plan on finishing the building tomorrow and then I start training for the event. I will keep you updated on my training as I go along this coming month.

There is no doubt in my mind this IS my most dangerous stunt to date and I will be challenged to my limit. I am not sure yet where this is going to happen but I will let you know as soon as it is conformed. You can come and watch if you want BUT if you are of a nervous disposition I would NOT recommend it!

How to sign off in a cool looking and sounding way? Oh I can’t be bothered …

So
TTFN Dave

PS the just giving site is www.justgiving.com/davidmatkin
